Babe Pig in the City
Directed, produced, and co-written by George Miller, Babe Pig in the City (1998) is the dark and imaginative sequel to the 1995 hit Babe. The story picks up shortly after Babe's victory at the sheepherding contest when an accident on the farm leaves Farmer Arthur Hoggett (James Cromwell) seriously injured. To save the farm from foreclosure, Esme Hoggett (Magda Szubanski) travels with Babe to the fictional metropolis of "Metropolis" for a paid appearance.
After being detained at the airport and stranded in the chaotic city, Babe finds himself at the Flealands Hotel, a sanctuary for a variety of odd and talented animals including a family of chimpanzees and a civilized orangutan named Thelonius. The film is celebrated for its surreal visual style and its exploration of kindness and resilience within a cold, urban jungle.
Locations
Babe Pig in the City was filmed entirely in Australia, primarily utilizing major studio facilities in Sydney and rural locations in New South Wales to create its unique fairytale-meets-metropolis aesthetic.

The majority of the film's urban environments, including the quirky "Flealands Hotel" and its surreal neighborhood, were constructed as massive, detailed sets at the new Fox Studios (now Disney Studios) in Moore Park, Sydney. Map Location
