X-Men 2

Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men 2 (also known as X2: X-Men United, 2003) is widely regarded as the finest film in the original X-Men trilogy. Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) must join forces against mutantophobic militarist William Stryker (Brian Cox), who raids Xavier's school and seeks to use the Professor's mind against every mutant on Earth. The film opens with the extraordinary White House attack by Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) and builds to a devastating climax at Stryker's dam facility.

The production shifted from Toronto to Vancouver, British Columbia, and brought a new grandeur to Xavier's mansion by relocating it to the spectacular Hatley Castle on Vancouver Island.

Professor Xavier's school in "Westchester, New York" moved west for the sequel — it is now Hatley Castle on the campus of Royal Roads University in Colwood, a magnificent 1908 castle on Vancouver Island accessible by ferry from Vancouver or by flying to nearby Victoria. The Castle has since appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand, Deadpool, and numerous television productions. Map Location

The snowbound "Alkali Lake" dam — the film's dramatic final location where Jean Grey makes her ultimate sacrifice — is situated between Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park near Kananaskis, Alberta.
