X-Men: The Last Stand

Directed by Brett Ratner, X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) is the third film in the original X-Men trilogy. When a pharmaceutical company announces a "cure" for the mutant gene, the already-fractured mutant community is torn apart. Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) has been resurrected as the terrifying Phoenix, and Magneto (Ian McKellen) marshals a massive Brotherhood army to destroy the cure's source on Alcatraz Island. Professor Xavier's school remains at Hatley Castle, and much of the film's visual language carries forward from X-Men 2.

The production remained in Vancouver, British Columbia, with the Golden Gate Bridge famously relocated by Magneto to Alcatraz providing one of the franchise's most spectacular set pieces — achieved through a combination of location shots and CGI.
