X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Directed by Gavin Hood, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) is a prequel tracing the backstory of Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) from his Canadian childhood through his service in multiple wars alongside his brother Victor Creed/Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber), and ultimately to the brutal Weapon X programme that bonds adamantium to his skeleton. The film introduces a host of mutant characters including Gambit (Taylor Kitsch), Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), and a young Cyclops.

The production was based at Fox Studios in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, with additional filming in New Zealand and British Columbia, Canada. Multiple continents' worth of settings were created across these three locations.
