Directed by Danny Boyle, 127 Hours (2010) is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's (James Franco) remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days, Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the grit and the preferred means to extricate himself by any means necessary.

Locations
The film was shot largely on location in the actual canyons of Utah to capture the stark, beautiful, and terrifying isolation of the desert.

The real events took place in Bluejohn Canyon, a slot canyon in eastern Wayne County, Utah.
